PREDICTIONS WITH PENALTIES

How to save your knockout-stage prediction

If you predict a draw, you must pick the penalty-shootout winner for your prediction to save.

In knockouts, your prediction covers the whole match

In the knockout phase (round of 16, quarters, semis, final) your score covers the 90 minutes plus extra time if any. You're predicting the final outcome of the match, not just regulation time.

If you predict a draw, pick the penalty-winner flag

When your scoreline ends level at the end of the match, the option to pick the flag of the team you think will win on penalties appears. One tap on the flag is enough to decide who advances in your prediction.

Without a penalty winner, nothing saves

If you predict a draw and don't select the penalty winner, the app saves nothing. The save button stays disabled. Make sure to tap a flag so your prediction gets recorded and competes for points.

💡 Applies to: World Cup 2026, Libertadores, Sudamericana, Copa do Brasil and any tournament with a knockout phase.

Penalty points only count if you predicted a draw

The scoring rule depends on your scoreline prediction. There are 2 scenarios:

  • ✅ You predicted a draw and picked the right penalty winner → full points.
  • ❌ If you did not predict a draw, your prediction dies at 120 minutes. Even if the match ends up going to penalties, those points do not apply — in your prediction the match was already resolved.

💡 Bottom line: if you did not pick a draw, your prediction ends at 120 minutes. Penalty-winner points only count if your prediction actually reached the shootout.

Knockouts = all the points on the line. Don't let an undefined draw cost you your prediction!
